How 2 survive this…

When we were kids, politics was just background noise. Our parents would argue or vent about it, but we were in our own world—playing, imagining, exploring. There was freedom in that ignorance—not necessarily a blissful ignorance, but an untethered one. You weren’t constantly processing the latest injustice or trying to fix everything. You were just being.

Now, as adults, we’re expected to be engaged, informed, outraged, and always ready to react. And sure, caring is human. It shows empathy. But caring about everything, all the time, especially about things we have little control over—that’s exhausting. That’s what burns people out.

The text suggests a return to presence. To reclaiming a bit of that childhood detachment—not to become apathetic, but to protect your sanity. Maybe you toke, maybe you meditate, maybe you just log off for a while. Whatever gets you back to center. Because yeah, politics matters—but so does your peace.

And real talk: you can care, but you don’t have to carry it all. Let the world rage for a bit. Be that kid again. Touch some grass. Laugh at dumb memes. Hug your people. Let go for a while.
